Zheng Nguyen

Steevy Carlisle

Before her untimely and brutal death, Assembly Member Zheng Nguyen (Independent) was an indefatigable advocate for a self-sufficient Martian global population. She was best known for legislating the conglomerated terraforming industry out of the corporate pillage trough it was mired in , with her “No Pain, No Grain” bill. Nguyen was notoriously modest about her achievements as a legislator, preferring to pass credit onto local community leaders and experts in the field. The late Minister for Agriculture has been commemorated today by the registration of the first distinctively Martian organism in the biological literature: the radiation resistant, extreme temperature adapted, high-yeild sorghum strain “zhenghum” (Sorghum vulgare nguyen).
